The Super Eagles of Nigeria climbed up four places in the men’s ranking released by FIFA on Friday, Prompt News reports.
World soccer ruling body, FIFA released the latest ranking on their official website.
The Super Eagles upward movement is connected to their recent wins against Lesotho, and Benin Republic.
Previously ranked 45th, the Super Eagles are now the 41st best nation in the world.
Eric Chelle’s side also moved up one position in Africa (sixth to fifth spot).
They are behind Morocco, Senegal, Egypt and Algeria.
Spain maintained top spot in the ranking, with former long-term leaders Argentina back up to second and France dropping one place to third.
The Three Lions of England, and Portugal are in the top five.
