The Abuja Chapter of the Finance Correspondents Association of Nigeria (FICAN) on Friday elected new Executive Officers to pilot the affairs of the group for the next three years.

Mr Bassey Udoh of Mediatracnet emerged the new Chairman while Mrs Elizabeth Christopher of Voice of Nigeria (VON) became the Vice Chairman. The position of General Secretary was clinched by Mr Benjamin Umuteme of Blueprint Newspaper.
Other elected officers include Mr David Agba of Blueprint Newspaper, Public Relations Officer; Mrs Abiola Sopeju, Treasury; and Ms Barbara Bako of Businessline, Auditor.
In his acceptance speech, the new chairman pledged his commitment and that of the new leadership “not for self, but for our collective desire to bring into office a credible leadership with the capacity to sustain and raise the bar on the sterling achievements of the outgoing Executive”.

The election was conducted immediately after the association’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) which took place at the meeting conference hall of the Shoprite Complex in Abuja.
