The FCT Administration has concluded arrangements to commission 100 new Abuja Mass Transit Buses for the Abuja Urban Mass Transport Company [AUMTCO] scheduled for Tuesday May 27, 2014.
The commissioning of these 100 high capacity buses is one of the key strides of the Transformation Agenda through the FCT Administration to enhance and drive home its robust transportation policy promised the residents of the Federal Capital Territory.
It would be recalled that Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, on Tuesday March 18, 2014 assured the residents of the Federal Capital Territory that his Administration would deliver 100 new high capacity buses to expand the fleet of the Abuja Urban Mass Transport Company (AUMTCO) in April 2014.
Thus, the Minister reiterated that these additional 100 new high capacity buses that are meant to expand the fleet of AUMTCO is also intended to improve its capacity and service delivery in consonance with the dictates of the Transformation Agenda of President Goodluck Jonathan.
According to him, the Abuja commuters are in for a new deal, as the commissioning of these new buses would further improve the transportation network of the entire 8,000 square kilometres of the Federal Capital Territory.
He remarked that these modern high capacity buses that are being made available through the FCT SURE-P but driven by the Abuja Investment Company Limited [AICL] would be commissioned at the Eagle Square, Abuja at 11am.
