            Bala Mohammed

The FCT Minister, Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, has felicitated with Nigerians, particularly those resident in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja as they mark New Year 2015.
The Minister in a New Year Message, enjoined residents to remain steadfast and resolute in joining hands with other well meaning Nigerians to build a new Nigeria under President Goodluck Jonathan where generations yet unborn would be proud of.
According to him, this year’s New Year is very special to the nation because it is an election year for the country where citizens would have yet another opportunity to elect their leaders.
Mohammed thus, called on Nigerians irrespective of religious beliefs or political inclinations to pray for Nigeria to experience peaceful 2015 General Elections and urged them to abhor violence.
The Minister emphasized that Nigeria needs prayers at this crucial time to have successful and peaceful elections to strengthen our democracy.
Mohammed appealed to Nigerians to redouble their patriotism zeal where love for the nation is most paramount and to shun any act capable of breeding disunity.
The Minister advised Nigerians to also pray for the country’s leadership, for God to continue to guide, protect and give President Goodluck Jonathan the strength and the wisdom to steer the affairs of state, thereby judiciously implementing the Transformation Agenda of the Federal Government.
The Minister appreciated God for sparing our lives to witness this New Year celebration, in spite of the daunting security challenges facing some parts of the nation.
He charged Nigerians, particularly residents of the Federal Capital Territory to continue to live in peace and harmony with one another, insisting, “its only peace that can usher in genuine development”.
Mohammed also enjoined residents to remain unwavering; continue to believe in the capability of Nigeria’s leadership whilst being their brothers’ keepers.
The Minister expressed the commitment of his Administration to continue to provide serene and clean environment in consonance with the Road Map of his Administration and Transformation Agenda of President Jonathan.
On security, the Minister assured that all security outfits in the Federal Capital Territory are working together and are more than ever prepared to remain on top of any unexpected security breach.
“I charged you to always assist the Security Agents with useful information on any suspicious movement because security is everybody’s business,” he added.
