By Gracious Akujobi Former Super Eagles winger, Tijani Babangida has been given a two-year contract extension to lead FC Taraba by the acting Governor of Taraba State, Garba Umar.
The former Nigeria International whose contract expired after leading the team to secure promotion to the Nigeria Premier League did not relent in carrying out his function as Chairman of the club while awaiting renewal of his contract renewed.
An excited Babangida expressed gratitude to the acting Governor for having confidence in him by renewing his contract for another two years to lead FC Taraba.
He promised not to disappoint the Governor and the good people of the state in the task of leading the team to doing well in the Nigeria Premier League.
Meanwhile, the Jalingo based team has been putting finishing touches to their preparation to participate in the Nigeria Premier League. They recently played a friendly match with Gombe United in Gombe who forced them to a one all draw. They have also played several other friendly matches with local clubs sides in the state.
FC Taraba will be playing their first match in the 2013/2014 Glo Nigeria Premier League at home against Nasarawa FC and Babangida has assured that the players will definitely give a good account of themselves in their first season in the elite league.
