ABUJA –
Fame Foundation is organising a program, Hiking Against Rape, designed to use sports, a universal language to campaign against rape which rate has gone up since the lockdown due to the global pandemic, Corona Virus.
The idea is to raise funds for families of rape victims in Nigeria, with focus on the families of girls that were raped and brutally murdered in Benin City and Ibadan.
Due to the regulations on social gatherings, there is a limited slot for 80 people.
We are selling Tshirts for N10, 000 each and End Rape face mask for N5, 000, End Rape face cap is N5, 000
Proceed of which will be given to the families for succour at this trying time.
Other donations for these families will be highly appreciated.
Hiking Against RAPE will be boldly written in front of the Tshirt while names of advocate will be written boldly at the back, e.g Aderonke says no to rape
On the face mask, however, End Rape will be boldly printed on it.
Date is Saturday, June 27, 2020
Take off place is Berger Roundabout: 6:30am (we will leave in a convoy, led by a police pilot vehicle)
Climbing of mountain is 7am prompt
Venue is, Gwarinpa Hills, along Cash N Carry/Gwarinpa expressway.
On the mountain, there will be talks exclusively by the men on the dangers of rape, advocating against rape.
A rape victim will also share her story and how she overcame the trauma.
Music, and dance.
Participants are to bring their own drink. Games like ludo, scrabble, monopoly, and likes.
Organizers will provide first aid, instructors, security, and other logistics.
By 12noon, we shall descend from the mountain.
Wearing of mask is a must. Event will be covered by the Nigerian media.
