LONDON – By Bolaji Oyegunle The leadership crisis rocking the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, is not doing the country any good at the international scene.
As the NFF Board led by President Amaju Pinnick, is trying to organise Grade A international friendlies, top football nations appear not interested because of the leadership crisis at home.
Prompt News Online correspondent in London, gathered that the NFF may have therefore, settled for Super Eagles friendlies with Mali and Luxembourg.
According to our London source, the two matches are done deals.
While the Super Eagles will play Mali on May 27, they will engage Luxembourg on June 1, 2016.
The two friendlies will be played in London while the venue is yet to be finalised
Asked why settling for Mali and Luxembourg, the source said “We are making efforts to get top countries for the Super Eagles but I must tell you that the crisis at home is not helping matter.”
When reminded that we have only one NFF led by Amaju Pinnick, the source responded, “have you forgotten that the world is now a global village?
“Those we are meeting for friendlies know what is going on at home, they read on the internet and they are all on Facebook, Twitter and other social media”.
