By Godwin Kingsley, Lafia Former Governor of Nasarawa State and Senator representing Nasarawa North senatorial, Abdullahi Adamu has charged Nigerian youths to fight against any form of corruption that is bedeviling the country.
The Senator made the call when he received an award from Nasarawa State Youths and Student Union Forum in Keffi, Saturday.
He stated that “the time has come when youths in the country will rise against corruption and abject poverty in the land.
The senator attributed the withdrawal of major PDP stakeholders from the party to bad governance of the present administration.
“Before we withdrew from PDP we warned but the government but they paid deaf ears to our advice. So, we have defected to give you guys the good governance you deserve.
He also expressed dismay over the crisis that ensued at the Nasarawa State University, Keffi, in January 2013.
Adamu urged the group to maintain the good name of the institution saying it was rated as one of the best in the last four years.
He however, thanked the group for finding him worthy of the award adding that he will continue to give them the needed support to excel.
Earlier, the President of the group, Abah Abah, which is a culmination of all executive members of various tertiary institutions in the state said the senator was singled out for the award because of his unflinching support to students in the state.
