By Gracious Akujobi Captain of Enyimba FC, Chinedu Udoji, says it was hard luck rather than being robbed that denied his team winning the Glo premier league last season.
“We were not robbed, it was hard luck. We lost some matches we were supposed to win. We planned to win the league but that did not materialize”.
Udoji praised the League Management Company (LMC) for organizing the Super 4 tournament while boasting that his team will win all the available trophies in this season.
According to him, “Playing in the Super 4 was good for our team because it has helped us to test ourselves and prepare for the Continental matches. I am sure that we will be ready by February when we play our first match in the continent.
“Our aspiration for this season is to win all the tournament and championship we have entered for. Enyimba is known for winning trophies and we have started this season by winning the pre-season Super 4 trophy”.
Asked if he was disappointed that he is not part of the CHAN Eagles after performing well at the just concluded season, the hard tackling defender said no ill feelings.
“Personally I was not disappointed I was not called up for the CHAN team,I believe in hard work and I know if I keep on working hard my time to play for the national team will surely come.
“I promise that when my time comes I will grab it with both hands and I will not look back”.
Before signing to play for the current FA cup champions, Udoji has played for Buffalo FC, FC Abuja before moving to Enyimba FC in 2009.
