Two-time CAF Champions League winners, Enyimba FC of Aba were on Sunday evening officially handed over the Nigeria Professional Football League trophy after the match against Sunshine Stars Fc of Akure at Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos.
It was the last match of the 2014 / 2015 season which attracted a handful of football actions- starved Lagos fans.
The encounter was devoid of any much action as both teams played with caution especially in the first half of the game.
On resumption, both teams came out in searching for goals but there were no clear cut chances to score by the two sides.
However, a late rally by the hungrier Sunshine to nick an important goal that will take them the continent came to nothing as the match ended in a barren draw.
No sooner the match ended than fans invaded the pitch, a situation which delayed the trophy presentation which is a big indictment to the league organizers.
