One Johnson Agboola, 34, who allegedly stole Guinness products worth N542,754, on Thursday appeared before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan.
Agboola, whose residential address was not provided, is facing a charge of stealing the products, property of his employer, Anbsolite Accord Investment Ltd.
The Prosecutor, Sgt. Philip Amusan, told the court that Agboola allegedly committed the offence sometimes in May, at Opposite Eruwa Garage, Eleyele, Ibadan.
He alleged that Agboola, a member of staff of Anbsolite Accord Investment, was entrusted with the Guinness products to be sold and remit the money to the company.
Amusan said that the defendant rather fraudulently converted the money to his personal use.
According to him, the offence is contrary to Section 390(6) and punishable under Section 390(9) of the Criminal laws of Oyo State, 2000.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Magistrate Abimbola Amole-Ajimoti granted the defendant N200,000 bail and one surety in like sum.
She adjourned the case until June 30, for hearing. (NAN)
