Former Super Eagles midfielder, Friday Ekpo, is excited by the new broadcast right deal entered into by the League Management Company (LMC), saying it would motivate individuals and organizations to own clubs.
Speaking on a radio programme, Cool FM monitored by our correspondent in Abuja, Ekpo said the new deal would improve the competitiveness and the standard of the league
“I want to say a very big congratulations to the League Management Company for being able to achieve that great feat
“With this new development I feel more hands more private individuals more private bodies will like to have a team on ground because with this new development they will want to associate themselves with what is happening in the football industry
“When this interest builds up the Government will think of handing over the league to private hands who may be paying some percentage to the government”
The LMC recently secured a $34 million USD broadcast right deal with Super Sports, the deal is expected to run from 2015 football league season.
