The Ekiti state chapter of the People’s Democratic Party has carpeted the former speaker of the Ekiti state house of Assembly, Dr Adewale Omirin on his admittance of collecting money from the state Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose.
The party challenged him to explained the purpose of the money he confessed to have collected from the governor of the state and justify the sensibility in collecting such huge amount of money in this situation of financial mess which his party had dragged EKITI state into in its vengeful missions.
In a statement issued by PDP during the weekend and signed by the party’s chairman, Idowu
Faleye queried the embattled former speaker to tell the whole world the reason why he decided to be collecting two hundred thousand naira for fuelling whenever he visit the Governor in his office.
It will be recalled that the speaker had confessed in one of his interview with the Press that he and his colleagues did collected two thousand naira each every time they visited the Governor in his office after the swearing in .
Faleye described the action of the speaker as a fashion of corruption and indecency, saying that any reasonable person should know that it is only a corruptible mind that will be collecting such huge amount of money on every visit to the Governor and still claim to be honourable.
He condemned the decision by Dr Omirin and his APC colleagues to be running from Lagos to Oshogbo without coming to Ekiti state house of Assembly to perform the functions they were elected for, adding that the former speaker and his co travellers in this barbaric and unpatriotic course should bury their heads in shame for denying their state good and robust legislation rather they turns themselves into opposition of Ekiti renascence.
The PDP boss also took a swipe at the former speaker statement that he and his colleagues sat and carried out some legislative duties when there was nothing of such nature , saying the speaker should mature enough to be asked of the location and time of the sitting either within Ekiti or outside, saying that this is another clear bigotry and political madness.
According to him there was nowhere in the world where such sitting took place and that the APC legislators have resulted to machinery of lies and brigade of blackmail suddenly because they discovered that the whole Ekiti people have resolved that they are not fit be called men and women of honour again going by their unpatriotic attitudes.
