Newly appointed interim coach of the Super Eagles, Austin Eguavoen has described his new portfolio as a call to once again serve his fatherland as there are thousands of coaches before choosing him to superintend the affairs of the senior national team.
The NFF Technical Director while speaking with Prompt News in a telephone chat said the interim appointment was a surprise to him but promised to do his best by ensuring that hungry and willing players who value the green and white jersey are invited for the AFCON holding in Cameroon January next year.
“This is not about Eguavoen or Salisu, it is about Nigeria. The new technical crew need everyone prayer and support from Nigerians.
“We must believe in our own and we are open to constructive criticism that will make our Super Eagles better”. Eguavoen pleaded.
Prompt News recalls that a couple of days ago, NFF Chieftains led by Amaju Melvin Pinnick held a meeting with Minister of Sports Sunday Dare where a decision was reached to terminate the appointment of the erstwhile head coach Gernot Rohr.
