By Gracious Akujobi Nigeria Nation-Wide League (NNWL) will be collaborating with the Ministry of Education to carry out robust sensitization campaign using football as a driving force in various communities in parts of the country.
Chairman of NNWL Ahmed Kawu made this known when board members visited Minister of Education,Ibrahim Shekarau in his office in Abuja.
“We are trying to revive the culture that was disconnected and lost. We believe naturally that education and sports particularly football have strong relationship which will make us realize our programmes
“We as managers of highest football league in Nigeria and West Africa with about 70% of youths are reaching out to restore awareness and enlightenment which have eroded for a long time now
“Partnering with ministry of education for us and entire Nigerians will facilitate the desired result” he stated.
Responding, Education Minister Ibrahim Shekarau extolled the impact of the nation-wide league in the life of young People while assuring of his support in their activities.
He added “A healthy mind exists in a healthy body and that tells you how much we consider the issue of schools sports. The best way to keep youths busy is by engaging them in sporting activities.
The enlightenment campaign is expected to continue with the involvement of major stakeholders and partners.
