The Federal Ministry of Education held a crucial meeting with NASU and SSANU officials on July 4, 2024, to address their grievances and appeal for restraint on their planned strike action.
Minister Prof. Tahir Mamman, accompanied by the Minister of State Hon. Dr. Yusuf Tanko Sununu, Permanent Secretary Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, and Directors, engaged in fruitful discussions with the union leaders.
The Minister acknowledged their concerns, assured them that withheld salaries have been forwarded to the highest level of government for attention, and appealed for restraint on the planned strike. He also announced the constitution of an Advisory Committee to address other issues.
In a statement by Folasade Boriowo on Friday, while union leaders expressed disappointment, they appreciated the Minister’s gesture and the meeting ended on a positive note, with both parties committing to continued dialogue and finding solutions. READ ALSO:
