The All Progressive Congress (APC) in Ebonyi, on Thursday inaugurated its executive ahead of the 2023 general election.
Speaking at the event on Thursday in Abakaliki, Gov David Umahi of Ebonyi, represented by his Deputy, Mr Kelechi Igwe tasked the new executive to work hard for the interest of the party.
“I urge you to always stand tall for the interest of our dear party, especially in this period we are preparing for the general election.
“Be focused and dedicated to your duties as an executive. We, the members of the party, trust your capacity. Work well because after rain, comes the sunshine,” he said.
Also speaking, Chairman of the party in the state, Mr Stanley Okoro-Emegha urged the new executive to stear clear of segregation among members.
“This is the period to work more closely. We will continue to be committed to reconciliation of members. We must take the interest of the party very seriously.
“We must dedicate all our time. Being an executive does not mean that you are the owner of the party.
“Stay away from segregation of members. Today’s inauguration is the beginning of the journey and I believe in the end, we will be celebrated,” he said.
Mr Euphemmia Nwali, State Vice Chairman of the party, who spoke on behalf of other executives thanked the party for founding them worthy to serve.
Nwali pladged more commitment to work as a team to move the party forward, not only in Ebonyi but Nigeria at large.
