A group championing the need for the Governors Sule Lamido of Jigawa and Rivers’ Rotimi Amaechi to run for the offices of President and Vice President respectively in 2015 has urged the duo to declare in earnest.
The Coordinator of the group-Lamido/Amaechi Campaign Organization, Bilya Mohammed Lawal, in a statement enjoined Nigerians to support them whenever they declare.
He stated that the country requires ‘true servant-leaders’ at this point of its history, saying only Lamido and Amaechi fit that description.
Lawal expressed delight at the emergence of the Kaduna state chapter of the New PDP led by Yaro Makama Rigachikum, insisting it is healthy for the nation’s political development.
The statement reads in part, “Presenting Governor Lamido as credible candidate for 2015 is the surest way for the PDP to retain the Presidency, just as I feel strongly that if the PDP is serious about a President that can take Nigeria to the next level and keep her at par with other developed countries, Sule Lamido is the right choice.”
