The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has warned the public against a fake press release circulating on social media TV, and messaging platforms, claiming to announce the shortlist for a Computer-Based Test (CBT) for recruitment exercises.
In a press signed by Abdullahi Maiwada, Assistant Comptroller of Customs and National Public Relations Officer, the NCS said the purported release, which claims the CBT is scheduled to take place in July 2025, is fraudulent and did not emanate from the Service.
The NCS categorically stated that it did not issue any such announcement regarding a CBT slated for July 2025.
The Service has identified discrepancies in the fake statement, particularly in its formatting, which differs from the official standard.
The NCS is taking steps to trace the origin of the false information and will take appropriate action to hold those responsible accountable.
The NCS urges the public not to engage with, share, or act upon the unverified content, assuring that authentic information about its activities, including recruitment exercises, will only be published on its official website, verified social media platforms, and recognized national newspapers.
