Worried by the continued silence on the whereabout of the first Index Case of the novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) virus patient, Imo state indigenes want Governor Hope Uzodinma to tell the public where the patient is being isolated.
Anxiety has mounted in Imo state since the announcement of the first Index Case of Covid-19 patient was belated made public last week as the indigenes fear its spread hence they want to get daily updates on the matter.
Unfortunately neither the Imo state Governor (Uzodinma) nor the Chairman of Imo State Task Force on Covid-19, Professor Maurice Iwu have made further statements on the state of health of the patient and where he is being isolated.
An Owerri-based businessman who pleaded anonymity told Prompt News that Imolites want daily updates on the the first Index Case of the patient like it is done in other states of the federation where their Governors are holding daily press briefing to enlighten the public on the state of affairs of Covid-19 pandemic.
Another indigene, Mr. Godwin Ukaegbu told our correspondent that the citizens are now living in perpetual fears especially in the capital city of Owerri since the news of the Imo state Index Case broke.
Ukaegbu wants Gov. Uzodinma to urgently make public statement to clear the doubt that the Covid-19 patient has absconded from wherever he was first taken to.
According to him the Governor should come clean by telling Imolites the whereabout of Index Case without further delay.
