The Nigerian Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) in Okitipupa, Ondo State, says it has sensitised its members on the spread of the coronavirus.
The Chairman of the union, Mr Temiyemi Akinmolayan, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Okitipupa that alcohol based hand sanitisers were also distributed to members during the sensitisation exercise.
The state chapter of NULGE led by Mr Bola Taiwo, he added, had sponsored a radio jingle to sensitise members and residents on the pandemic and possible ways of containing its spread.
“A radio jingle sponsored by the state chapter of NULGE is on to sensitise members and public on the spread of Coronavirus pandemic and ways of containing it.
“On our own, we also sensitise members to ensure hygienic environment, avoid hand shakes, hugging, social gathering and maintain social distancing among others.
“Through our state president, Comrade Bola Taiwo, we were able to distribute hand sanitisers to members and we urged them to wash their hands regularly with soap and water,” he said.
Akinmolayan urged members to adhere strictly to all goverment precautionary measures while workers not on essential duties should stay at home.
