Dr Dare Akande, Chairman, Governing Council of the America Polytechnic of Nigeria, Wasinmi, Oyo state, has approved the distribution of staple foods for residents of the two host communities of the Polytechnic – Wasinmi and Ado Awaye.
The gesture is in the spirit of giving back to the society and in view of the attendant hardships associated with the current government directives on lockdown and social distancing as veritable measures to combat the rampaging COVID-19 pandemic.
The package comprised of rice, semovita and other food items. The items were delivered to the communities Saturday, April 11, 2020, by a delegation which included top officers of the Polytechnic, representatives of the Dare Akande Vanguard and the Managing Editor, DASHNEWSONLINE organisation.
While making the presentation, Aremo Femi Adetola (Dr. FAA), the leader of the delegation reiterated the believe of the founder of the America Polytechnic of Nigeria, Dr Akande as a development catalyst of the host communities in particular and the global society in general.
He conveyed the goodwill intention of the Polytechnic to be at the forefront of welfare and advancement of the communities.
He informed the communities that this gesture was just the beginning of a robust and mutually beneficial relationship between the Polytechnic and the host communities.
The Alado of Ado and the Baale of Wasinmi were delighted by the kind gesture of the Chairman, Dr. Dare Akande. They both pledged the unflinching support of their people and communities to the noble aspirations of the America Polytechnic of Nigeria as the beacon of technical and vocational education in this part of the world.
Prayers were said by clerics in the two communities for the speedy and successful take off of the institution.
