As the ravaging global pandemic of Corona Virus bites harder, the paramount ruler of Akungba Akoko, Oba. Isaac Sunday Adeleye, Ajimo III, the Alale of Akungba land, has lauded the spirited efforts of Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu, SAN, at curbing the spread of COVID-19 in the State.
The young-but-articulate monarch stated this in his good hygiene appeal to indigenes and residents of the University Town of Akungba on Wednesday, April 8.
“Our Governor is leading frontally in the collective battle to wrestle down the borderless viral scourge. We as his followers should therefore emulate him by heeding medical advice on cleanliness, social distancing and stay at home order of the government,” said the royal father in his palace.
According to him, Arakunrin Akeredolu is leaving no stone unturned in the race to stem the tide of the ruinous and fatally infectious disease.
“The Governor sent some top Government officials on COVID-19 advocacy and enlightenment campaigns in their communities across the State, to nip the spread of the cure-less ailment in the bud. Our own son, the Hon. Commissioner of Agriculture in the State, Otunba Gboyega Adefarati, and his entourage, was in Akungba to drive home the Governor’s message of hope and self-restraint.
The Oba added that: “Governor Akeredolu has really tried in Curbing the spread of the pandemics in the state. We have seen his giant strides, and also the Federal Government derserves many accolades on the prevailing issue.”
“After the Commissioner enlightened us, he gave us many hand sanitizers to share to the people. That speaks volumes about government’s role in welfare and health security of the State.”
While speaking on the effects of the the lockdown, the monarch pleaded with his subjects to bear with the necessary hardship which he termed as temporary pain before a better tomorrow.
The Alale also said that COVID-19 presents an ample opportunity for practitioners of Alternative Medicine to look inward on how to find solution to the worldwide modern plague.
Africans, the Kabiyesi emphasized, should not devalue the power of their heritage in the spheres culture and natural science.
Finally, His Royal Majesty called on his community to comply with all pre-cautionary measures in the fight against the pandemic, such as washing of hands with soap in running water, use of sanitizers and general environmental cleanliness.
