A serving National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member, Shuaibu Adamu, has been allegedly killed with a hammer by hoodlums in Gwagwalada Area Council of the FCT.

The incident was reported to have happened on Sunday night at about 8pm behind AA Rano filling station, located along the Abuja-Lokoja highway.

The deceased, who was riding on a motorcycle back to his house behind the filling station, was suddenly blocked by some hoodlums who smashed his head with a hammer and zoomed off with his bike.

Some neighbours who were passing by later identified him and alerted his relatives, who evacuated him to the hospital.

However, the corps member was pronounced dead by doctors at the hospital on Monday night, saying his remains were taken to Abaji and buried on Tuesday.

He was identified as the son of Alhaji Salihu Kakamba, the district head of Unguwar Sabon- Tasha in Abaji Area Council.

A graduate of Political Science from the Federal University Gashua, Yobe State, Shuaibu Adamu was serving with a secondary school in Kogi LGA of Kogi State.

DAILY TRUST reports that he had visited a family member in Gwagwalada on Sunday when he was attacked by the motorcycle snatchers.
