Dr Nasir Ariyibi, Director, Health Services, Lagos State University, Ojo, has assured all members of the university community that measures have been put in place to ensure the institution remains safe of coronavirus.
Ariyibi gave the assurance in a statement in Lagos on Tuesday.
He said that some of the measures put in place were provision of sanitisers to all offices and some other places for students and checking of body temperature.
“Medical health officers are on standby and the ambulance for any distress call.
“Our students and staff members should remain calm and practice high level personal hygiene, including cough hygiene,’’ he said.
Ariyibi urged the students to practice the following preventive measures which included washing hands regularly with soap and water, using alcohol-based hand sanitiser.
Others are: Maintain a distance (1-1.5 metres) with anyone coughing or sneezing and cover your mouth and nose with handkerchief or tissue.
“As a community, we do not want us to abuse the social media by spreading fake news that will create fear and panic.
“The University Health Services is well poised to ensure we all remain safe,’’ he said. (NAN)
