Ekiti-based Nigerian chef, Damilola Adeparusi, has surpassed Hilda Baci’s 100-hour Cook-a-thon record.
The chef, on Tuesday, shared the new record on her Instagram page while celebrating the feat.
The PUNCH, on June 9, 2023, reports the chef began her 120 hours cook-a-thon.
She became a cynosure in a viral video after she reportedly completed 15 hours of the 120 hours earmarked for the cooking.
While some netizens have criticised her for attempting to break Hilda’s ‘yet to be confirmed’ attempt by the Guinness World Record, some have showered praise on her for believing in herself.
The PUNCH also reports that Ekiti State First Lady, Dr. Olayemi Oyebanji, took to social media to celebrate the chef’s attempt to break the Guinness World Record in the longest cooking category with a 120 hours target.
Chef Dammy also caught the attention of a Nigerian transporter in the United States, Ayodeji Arojo, who gifted the young chef N500,000 and a two weeks cooking tour of the US.
Announcing his offers for Chef Dammy, Arojo, via his Facebook page also drummed up support for the Ekiti Chef writing;
“Chef Dammy will be invited for a two-week cook tour in the United States. I can’t wait for her to start the process!
“Let us continue to support her.”
