The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivets state on Tuesday said it has become increaexpedient to respond to certain criticisms by the All Progressives Congress, APC so that the impressionable members of the public are not further misinformed and intellectually abused by this visionless lot that call themselves a political party.
“It’s against this backdrop that we make bold to make a passing comment on the rather ridiculous statement on the sure National Convention of our dear party billed to hold here in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital on Wednesday, August 17, 2016,” PDP spokesperson, Jerry Nadeem, said in a statement.
He stated further, “Ordinarily, there would not have been any need to react to such a hollow talk from a high sounding empty drum but for the dose of undeserved insults on the leader of the PDP, and executive governor of the State, Chief Barr Nyesom Wike, a man that qualifies to be deified if he were a chieftain of the APC, surpassing all its members put together in terms of ideas, leadership qualities, performance and vision.
“More shocking is the APC’s shameful case of a kettle calling pot black.
“It’s no more news that the only phenomenon that sustains the masses of Nigerians, hope, has been vigorously killed by the APC controlled federal government, as our national economy that a few years ago was the envy of many a nation has completely collapsed beyond resuscitation due to the visionlessness, cacophony of lies, unco-ordinated policies of the APC and a tintinnabulation of political jingoism through witch-hunt, selective war against corruption that is anchored on precarious feet of falsehood and vendetta etc.
“Notwithstanding the crying and lamentations of the hopeless dying masses of Nigerians entangled in the excruciating pains of APC chain agenda, the like of Chris Fynebone, APC’s surrogate and megaphone, clad with a garb of State publicity secretary have continued to pretend not to know or feel the pangs of poverty foisted on the nation by his paymasters.
“What matters to him and his benefactors is simply the National Convention of the PDP graciously holding in Port Harcourt which the APC high command in Abuja using the coercive instruments of power want to thwart but have continued to falter at every step taken.
“Their only concern is that the National Convention holding in Port Harcourt has punctured their baseless propaganda of insecurity in the State just to discredit the unequalled efforts of the God-sent Executive Governor of the State, Chief Barr Nyesom Wike who has roundly demonstrated an unstoppable interest in restoring sanity to the State by putting to an end the regime of organized crime aimed at mortgaging the State by a few inconsequential political neophytes insisting on the ‘old order’.
“There is no gainsaying the fact that the PDP National Convention holding in the Garden City of Port Harcourt besides debunking the many lies of the APC about the State, will further bring the tourism potentials that abound across the State to the front burner of social discourse with the side attraction of opening up the State to potential investors desirous of taking advantage of the rich oil and gas resources to invest in the State.
“This is simple economic arithmetic that only the APC lacks the knowledge to understand, no wonder the prices of petroleum products, agricultural produce, consumer products, building materials and everything with no exception have sky-rocked to the high heavens so much so that even the APC supporters across the country are causing the day the reins of power and leadership of this once great nation unfortunately slipped into the hands of ‘one chance’, sorry, chain agent called APC government. Thank God nobody is left out from the strangulation.
“In our own part, we will continue to do that which we were mandated by the majority of our people to do; to provide for their needs, protect their lives and property, promote their welfare at all times and establish worthy democratic ethos that will enthrone effective governance that will outlive this regime and be sustained as an enduring legacy notwithstanding the gossips of an ungodly and unappreciative bunch, the APC.”
