Chippa United assistant coach, Thabo September, has hinted that Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali might continue his career at the club.
Nwabali gained widespread recognition following his outstanding performance for the Super Eagles at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cote d’Ivoire.
The 28-year-old played a pivotal role in Nigeria’s journey to the final, keeping four clean sheets in seven matches.
Nwabali’s exceptional display in the tournament did not go unnoticed, attracting offers from various clubs across South Africa, Europe and Saudi Arabia.
However, the former Enyimba goalkeeper has expressed his desire to carefully consider his options before making a decision on his future.
There is growing speculation about whether Nwabali will remain with Chippa United or move to a new club.
September revealed that while everyone at the club supports Nwabali’s aspirations to advance to a higher level, his immediate future may still lie with the Chilli Boys.
“We all want Stanley to go to the next level, to move on to bigger things. That’s why he plays so well, so he can secure a bigger move,” September said in an interview with FARPost.
“From the management, the chairman, and us as coaches and players, we want that to happen. But at the moment, he’s here with us, and he’s a professional. He’s working hard, and if the opportunity doesn’t come, he’s ready to play in the PSL for Chippa United.” READ ALSO:
