KANO – A two-day training programme for accountability media on legislative advocacy in child and family health got underway on Wednesday in Kano.
The programme is being organised by the Civil Society Legislative Advocacy Centre (CISLAC), Abuja, under the legislative advocacy component of Partnership for Advocacy in Child and Family Health (PACFaH).
In her opening presentation, CISLAC Program Manager, Chioma Kanu, said the training aimed equipping accountability media with appropriate skills and knowledge to effectively demand accountability in child and family health from the legislatures at the state and national levels.
PACFaH Nigeria is a partnership of eight (8) Nigerian Non-governmental Organisations, NGOs, working together to encourage government, at national and state levels, to identify innovative mechanisms to provide adequate funding for child and family health.
The focus is on four (4) important areas in child and family health such as Routine Immunization, Family Planning, Amoxicillin as first line treatment for Pneumonia and ORS-Zinc as treatment for childhood diarrheal diseases, and Nutrition.
Participants at the training holding at Nasarawa Guest House, Kano, are drawn from reputable online and traditional media. It ends on Thursday.
