The new Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele, on Wednesday briefed President Goodluck Jonathan ahead of unveiling his agenda for the banking sector on Thursday.
Mr. Emefiele who was recently screened and cleared by the Senate resumed work at the CBN headquarters, Abuja on Monday.
He succeeds Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, whose tenure ended abruptly having been suspended over allegations bothering on financial recklessness.
The meeting between the CBN Governor and President Jonathan lasted for about an hour behind closed doors.
He however declined to speak with State House correspondents after the meeting. It was his first official meeting with the President
