The Super Falcons may be left without a match during this month’s international break following Cape Verde’s withdrawal from a scheduled series of friendlies in Ikenne next week.
The fixtures were intended to serve as preparation for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) for both sides.
However, multiple reports indicate that Cape Verde have pulled out of the games.
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is now reportedly scrambling to secure a late replacement opponent.
The Super Falcons were expected to open camp this weekend ahead of the April 7–18 international window.
The nine-time African champions have, in recent years, repeatedly faced challenges securing matches during international breaks.
