You cannot Stampede Buhari out of Office, Group warns

            Muhammadu-Buhari
            President Muhammadu Buhari

The National Committee of Yoruba Youth (NCYY) and the  Coalition of Civil Society groups ,  have come down hard on those they described as political merchants and unscrupulous ethnic fundamentalist who are poised to Stampede President Muhammed Buhari out of office as Nigerian President. The group’s reaction, is coming on the heel of a recent suit brought before an Abuja Federal High Court, asking for a Senate order, to constitute a medical board, to probe the health status of the President and what it also described as daily media reports, from faceless groups and partisan individuals, asking the President to quit his position, on the ground of his health condition.
National President of the NCYY, Comrade Oladimeji Odeyemi, accompanied by other officials, made this position known, at a Press briefing with  journalists in Lagos on Monday. He said President Buhari, has fulfilled the constitutional responsibility of transmitting Power to His Vice, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, who has since assumed the position of the acting President of the Country, therefore ensuring that no lacuna is created by the temporary absence of the President.
Odeyemi said, the latest controversy being steered with this latest call, is another in the series of attempt, to underscore  the numerous achievements of the administration of President Buhari.
“There is no doubt, that there are some measures of frustration in the land over the economic situation in the country, which we all know, is a result of the maladministration of the past, particularly  the later period of the administration of the PDP, in this country. Yet, President Buhari and his team, have worked tirelessly to restore hope, for our people and ensure that the fortunes, that we anticipate as Nigerians, is achieved at the earliest possible time” Odeyemi said.
“Having come this far, in restoring our aspirations for a better Nigeria, we want to condemn in the strongest terms possible, efforts by these persons, to stampede Mr President our of office, at a time, that He is speedily recovering and requires our collective prayers, as a people”
He said such call marks the height of unpatriotism and ingratitude to President Buhari and his team.
The group therefore appealed to Nigerians, to collectively condemn this desperation to get the President out of office, by foul means, and as a people we must also appeal to the makers of the call for the President’s resignation, not to further take steps that will continue to jeopardize the progress of our nation, adding that it is also suspicious that these persons have made it a  hobby, by trying to politicize the sensitive details of the President’s health.
“These purveyors of hate and death possibly don’t know God. They have gone further to create images and footages to back up their inhuman claims on President Buhari. So far so good,  the government of President Buhari has shown that with our unity of purpose Nigeria can attain all it lost glory.”
