The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has kind words for the Atlas Lions of Morocco following the team’s historic outing at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, reports Prompt News.
The Atlas Lions lost 2-1 to Croatia in the third-place match on Saturday afternoon to finish in fourth position.
Walid Regragui’s side not only made history as the first African country to make it to the semi-finals, but sent packing two of European giants, Spain and Portugal from the competition.
It was also the highest finish by an African team in the history of the FIFA World Cup.
CAF took to the social media to congratulate the Atlas Lions.
