Enyimba FC of Aba captain Austin Oladapo says the team is on a redemption mission against visiting Pyramids FC of Egypt in the second leg of their CAF Confederation Cup quarter-final match in Aba on Sunday.
The Enyimba captain told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the two- time CAF champions league winners had been training hard to rectify all mistakes noticed in the first leg in Egypt.
NAN reports that Enyimba is facing an uphill task as they lost the first leg 4-1 to a more coordinated Egyptian counterpart in the first leg.
The Nigerian side now need to score three unreplied goals to nurse any ambition of progressing to the semi-finals stage of the competition.
Oladapo, however, maintains that all hope is not lost as anything can happen in football.
“We have been training hard for this return leg, we are down and wounded so we don’t have to be shy to go all out and get the business done.
“We need to redeem ourselves if we want to qualify for the semi-finals of this competition,” he said.
The mercurial captain expressed optimism that playing in Aba. which is like a fortress for the team, would help neutralise and overpower the tricky Egyptian visitors.
NAN reports that Enyimba was knocked out of the competition by Horoya AC of Guinea in the quarter-final stage last year, while Pyramid FC (Egypt) was losing finalist against RS Berkane (Morocco). (NAN)
