President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Ibrahim Gusau was a delighted figure as the country claimed important honours at the CAF Awards 2023.
Napoli forward, Victor Osimhen claimed the Men’s Player of the Year gong, while Asisat Oshoala won the Women’s Player of the Year crown.
Paris FC shot stopper, Chiamaka Nnadozie went home with the inaugural Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year prize, while the Super Falcons won the National Team of the Year award.
Osimhen is the first Nigerian to win the Men’s Player award in 24 years, while Oshoala won a record-extending and sixth women’s award.
Gusau said: “I am very excited tonight. This has been hugely rewarding for our football and for our country as a whole.
“I congratulate Osimhen, Oshoala and Nnadozie, and I congratulate the Super Falcons as a team for bringing us this honour. READ ALSO:
