Federal Capital Teritory Football Association Chairman, Mohammed Mouktar Adam has described Bwari Township Stadium as a world class with modern day sporting facilities capable of hosting both CAF and FIFA competitions.
The former NFF Presidential aspirant who is seeking second term in office as FCT FA Football boss while speaking to Journalists at the NFF Secretariat revealed that part of the meeting with NFF President is to seek approval to formally inspect the stadium , noting that already the stadium is used by the organisers of Nationwide and National leagues.
He said Bwari Township Stadium was his initiative for grassroot development which will be replicated in other area councils.
“When I first took over 20th June, 2019, amongst my football agenda was grassroots football and infrastructural development. Today, Bwari Township Stadium has come to stay. Decentralising football is another promise I made, FCT league is played at various centres in six area councils.
“Also in terms of capacity building and human development, more than 150 coaches and referees were send to Nigeria Institute for Spots, NIS, for various courses and seminars under my first tenure. Seeking for second term is to build on the successes recorded so far”. Mouktar revealed.
The FCT football boss noted that for the first time, local councils football elections were conducted in six area councils of the territory.
