President Bola Tinubu has ordered the immediate arrest of Prince George Buchi Nwabueze following the discovery of a purported fake agency operating from the premises of the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.
As reported by Daily Trust, the development was disclosed on Friday by the Chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, Dr Musa Adamu Aliyu, SAN, after a meeting with President Tinubu at the State House.
Aliyu said the commission uncovered the alleged National Brands Development and Made in Nigeria Special Project Office as part of its ongoing investigation into the activities of a fake Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council allegedly operated by Adeyemi Matthew.
According to him, the investigation revealed that office space had been illegally allocated to the purported agency within the premises of the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume.
The ICPC chairman said the discovery formed part of the commission’s wider investigation into individuals allegedly creating and operating unauthorised government agencies and offices.
Following the briefing, Tinubu directed the immediate arrest of Nwabueze in connection with the matter.
The President also ordered the immediate suspension of three Permanent Secretaries identified as M.S. Danjuma, Engineer Nadungu Gagare and Richard P. Pheelangwah.

The development comes amid the Federal Government’s efforts to investigate alleged abuse of government offices and the unauthorised creation or operation of entities purportedly linked to the Presidency.
