Omoyele Sowore, the former presidential candidate for the African Action Congress (AAC), has declined the bail conditions set by the police, stating he will not accept release through the intervention of a “corrupt civil servant” at levels 16 or 17.
The activist, who is facing 16 charges of cybercrime filed by Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kayode Egbetokun, was detained after calling the police chief an “Illegal IG.”
Sowore voluntarily responded to a police invitation and was held at the Nigerian Police Intelligence Response Team (IRT) office in Abuja on Monday.
