*** Four Deputy Governors
The Senate has confirmed the appointment of Dr. Olayemi Cardoso as the substantive Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN.
Also confirmed are four Deputy Governors who were nominated along with Cardoso by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu recently.
The confirmation was sequel to the voice votes by the distinguished Senators present.
“The nomination of Olayemi Cardoso is hereby confirmed as the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria,” Senate President Godswill Akpabio announced.
Prompt News reports that the Governor and Deputy Governor nominees were subjected to thorough questioning that lasted well over five hours. They are to direct affairs at the CBN in the next five years.
The newly confirmed Deputy Governors are:
1.Mrs. Emem Nnana Usoro
2. Mr. Muhammad Sani Abdullahi Dattijo
3. Mr. Philip Ikeazor
4. Dr. Bala M. Bello
