The National Examinations Council (NECO) has officially released the results of the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

This was announced on Wednesday in a statement by Azeez Sani, the Acting Director of Public Affairs at NECO.

According to him, a total of 179,201 candidates registered for the examination, which covered 12 subjects.

The BECE was conducted nationwide from May 12 to May 23, 2025.

Sani noted that the release of the results followed the successful conclusion of the 2025 BECE Awards Committee meeting held at NECO’s headquarters in Minna, Niger State.

During the meeting, the Chairperson of the Committee, Dr. (Mrs) Folake David, Director of Basic Education at the Federal Ministry of Education, expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the examination and the result processing.

The meeting was also attended by secondary school principals from various parts of the country, alongside NECO management officials.

In addition, the committee approved the date and timetable for the 2025 BECE re-sit examination. According to NECO, the re-sit for Mathematics and English Studies will take place on July 23 and 24, 2025.
