Mr. Osagie Ize-Iyamu has been elected as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Edo state.
He polled 584 votes to defeat fellow aspirants during the PDP primaries held on Monday in Benin City, Edo state.
In the early hours of Sunday, Godwin Obaseki emerged the governorship candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.
It is expected that the governorship election scheduled to hold on September 19, 2016, will be a straight fight between the APC and PDP candidates.
