Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar on Thursday paid a visit to former Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, at his Abuja residence following the conclusion of the presidential primary of the African Democratic Congress.
Atiku was accompanied by former Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal; ex-National Chairman of the ADC, Ralph Nwosu; alongside other senior figures within the party.
The meeting comes amid political reactions trailing the ADC presidential primary, where both Atiku and Amaechi emerged as prominent contenders in the race ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Party insiders said the visit formed part of ongoing consultations aimed at strengthening internal unity and fostering reconciliation within the ADC after the keenly contested primary election.
Although details of the closed-door meeting were not disclosed as of press time, the engagement has fuelled speculations over moves by party leaders to consolidate support and prevent post-primary divisions.
Atiku, who recently secured the ADC presidential ticket, has continued consultations with major stakeholders in a bid to rally aggrieved members and position the party ahead of the next general election.
