Innocent Bonke said the exploits of fellow Super Eagles star Terem Moffi will inspire him to shine at new club FC Lorient.
Bonke, 25, has signed a contract for three and a half years with the French Ligue 1 side as a free agent after his contract at Swedish champions Malmo ran out.
Moffi scored 15 goals in all competitions last season to keep the coastal club in Ligue 1.
“I am delighted to be making a long-term commitment to FC Lorient. Joining the French Ligue 1 is an important step in my career and I am looking forward to the challenge that Lorient have offered me,” the defensive midfielder told the club’s official website.
“Reuniting with Terem Moffi, another Nigeria international, makes me extremely happy. He shone last season and I intend to draw inspiration from that to perform well in my new colours.
“I can’t wait to meet my teammates, the staff and get to work to achieve the goals set by the club.”
Bonke has been assigned jersey No 8.
