By Gracious Akujobi The National President of Nigeria Football Coaches Association (NFCA) Bitrus Bewarang has advised all the national team coaches to ensure that they affiliate with their respective State Football Coaches Association.
In a statement made available to Prompt News on Tuesday, Bewarang said the appeal was necessary because of recent happenings with coaches and their different clubs especially those on national team assignments.
“It is a known fact that most of our Coaches in their clubs and national teams do not have existing contracts, and when they are promised welfare packages and remunerations, these are not fulfilled and in most cases there are nothing that the Coaches Association can do about it.
“Because, these Coaches do not relate with us, there is no way we can come into their matters. But, if all the Coaches are affiliated with the Association, it becomes our responsibilities to fight for our members when they are sub charged at whatever levels” The former national team handler said.
Meanwhile, The Plateau United General Manager has announced that the Association’s congress slated for 29th December in Abuja has been moved to 13th January, 2015. He said the postponement was to ensure that all delegates attend the meeting.
