The Benue State House of Assembly has lifted the suspension of six lawmakers who were earlier penalized for alleged misconduct and disruption of legislative activities.
The reinstated members — Solomon Gyila, Williams Ortyom, Blessed Onah, Simon Gabo, Anyor Mato, and Elias Audu — were part of a group of 13 lawmakers suspended by the Assembly on February 19, 2025.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker, Terver Zamber, announced that the decision to lift the suspension came after the lawmakers submitted a formal apology to the Speaker and the House.
“The House has lifted the suspension on the six members following their apology letter,” Zamber said.
He noted that the lawmakers are now expected to resume their full legislative responsibilities.
