Four suspects have been arrested by the Bauchi State Police Command in connection with the bomb explosion in Azare on Friday, which killed no fewer than seven persons.
According to the Command’s spokesperson, DSP Haruna Mohammed, at about 10:05 am there was a bomb explosion suspected to have carried out by a female suicide bomber at First Bank premises in Azare Town, Bauchi State.
“Four Suspects have been arrested in connection to the incident and they are assisting the police with useful information that could aid investigation.
“The scene of incident was visited by the Commissioner of Police for an on-the-spot assessment and to commensurate with casualties.”
“So far, seven persons were confirmed dead, while ten others who sustained various degrees of injuries have been rushed to Federal Medical Center Azare for medical attention out of which five were treated and discharged.
”The entire surrounding have been cordoned off and swept by Police explosive ordinance disposal unit (E.O.D), the Police PRO said.
