Bauchi State House of Assembly has screened six commissioner nominees and received five more names for screening as commissioners by the state government.
Alhaji Baballe Dambam, the Deputy Majority Leader, who read the governor’s message at plenary session on Tuesday, said the message contained new nominees as commissioners for screening.
He said the names sent to the house as commissioner nominees included: Adamu Soro (Ganjuwa LGA), Yakubu Ningi ( Ningi LGA ), Jidauna Mbamis (Bogoro LGA) Mrs Sa’adatu Bello (Kirfi, LGA) and Abdullahi Musa (Zaki LGA)
He was seconded by the House Minority Leader, Bakoji Bobbo and the house unanimously adopted the names to be included and presented for screening.
Meanwhile, the legislators commenced screening of the first batch of six nominees for confirmation as commissioners.
The nominee screened by the house were Dayyabu Chiroma, Aminu Hammayo, Dr Sama’ila Dahuwa, Umar Kesa, Abubakar Bununu and Abdulhamid Nuruddeen.
The lawmakers, during the screening, harped mostly on health care delivery, economy, natural resources, and dispensation of justice.
All the commissioner nominees pledged to work for the state and not for individuals so as to explore solutions to the challenges as a way out of the current reality.
The Speaker, Abubakar Sulaiman, said the additional nominees would be screened on Tuesday and Wednesday. (NAN)
