A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abubakar Baraje, has warned that the ruling party may soon break into factions unless something is done urgently.
He has therefore, enjoined President Muhammadu Buhari to guide against the imminent break in the overall interest of the country.
According to Baraje who spoke to newsmen in Ilorin, Kwara state on Sunday, the control of the party is presently left in the hands of few individuals who consider themselves well above others.
He advised President Buhari to start to play a bit of politics to save the party from break up.
Baraje, who led the PDP faction that merged with the APC, noted that factors like impunity and lawlessness that led to the factions and collapse of the PDP were gradually creeping into the APC.
“I believe President Muhammadu Buhari’s government has brighter idea on how to turn around the fortunes of Nigeria,’’ he said, adding that the APC lost in some of the rerun elections because of internal wrangling.
