Super Eagles defender Leon Balogun says he will come back stronger from
his disappointing display in the side’s 2-0 loss to Madagascar at the Alexandria Stadium.
Balogun, who plays for English Premier League club, Brighton& Hove Albion was at fault for the first goal conceded by the Super Eagles in the game.
The former FSV Mainz defender took to the social media to apologise for his error and is determined to bounce back stronger from the setback.
“You can love me or either leave me, but I’m only human & I make mistakes. Try not to hold that against me tho. I accept full responsibility for my actions, so if ya’ll expect me to be perfect, I apologize for being human. No mistake’s too great to recover and bounce back ,”he tweeted.
The West Africans won their opening two games against the Swallows of Burundi and Syli Nationale of Guinea before slumping to defeat versus Madagascar.
The defeat cost Super Eagles top position in the group as they finished in second place with six points one adrift of the Barea.
The Super Eagles could also now set for a tough Round of 16 clash with perennial rivals, the Black Stars of Ghana.
