A medical doctor has tested positive for COVID-19 in Bayelsa, bringing the number of active cases in the state to two, Gov. Douye Diri has announced. Diri confirmed the case on Tuesday at the Government House, Yenagoa, during a meeting of the COVID-19 taskforce, which he serves as Chairman. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) said it would on Thursday, May 21, release the policy framework for Edo and Ondo governorship elections, outstanding by-elections and future electoral activities. The Lagos State Ministry of Health, on Tuesday announced the recovery and discharge of another nine COVID-19 patients from the Mainland Infectious Disease Hospital, Yaba. The ministry, through its verified Twitter handle, said that the patients were two females and seven males, all Nigerians. “The patients were discharged having fully recovered and tested negative to #COVID-19 in two consecutive readings. “This brings to 632, the number of confirmed #COVID-19 cases that have been successfully managed and discharged in Lagos,” it said. Gov. Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa on Tuesday requested the State House of Assembly to approve N17 billion loan to finance critical development projects across the state, especially in view of COVID-19.Gov. Adamawa State Executive Council has approved a downward review of the 2020 budget by 24 per cent, affecting only the capital expenditure and overhead costs. The Defence Headquarters says the Air Task Force of Operation Lafiya Dole (OPLD) on Monday neutralised scores of Boko Haram terrorists on the outskirts of Dapchi Town in Yobe.
